The Role of the Member

Individual licensed premises will be encouraged to join the partnership to share the positive benefits of membership which includes the Safer Socialising Award.

Membership of a partnership and participation in the Safer Socialising Award may have a positive influence on the criteria for fitness to hold a licence. Membership details may be made available to licensing authorities and police.

To achieve the Safer Socialising Award individual licensed premises must:

  • Be a member of the partnership
  • Agree to be inspected and to comply with the conditions of the award
  • Make any improvements required by the inspection
  • Maintain the standards agreed at the time of the award
  • Notify the board of any departures from those standards
  • Support the work of the partnership, which is to reduce crime, disorder and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour and create a safe and secure business environment for the day and evening economies.
